After what seems like a really long wait, Lego’s Series 4 Minifigures have just arrived in the store, and I am enchanted. No wonder people are obsessed by these things! I am not a collector, but if I were, I’d be sorely tempted by these little people. (Just think what you could do with these figures and a videocamera! Look out, Spielberg.)
The minifigures are blind-bagged (this time with an orange bag) so that you don’t know what you are buying, but (of course) Lego fans have managed to crack that problem by working out the correlation between the figure in the bag and a system of Braille-like dots on the bottom margin of the foil. Here’s a link to a schematic — but I warn you, it’s not as easy as it looks to identify a particular figure.
Still, if you are stuck looking for that last one you need to complete your set, every little bit helps! (Though it’s way more fun if you don’t cheat, really.)
There are sixteen new figures altogether, and the themes are fun and imaginative:
- Soccer Player
- Kimono Girl
- Garden Gnome
- Hockey Player
- Figure Skater
- Punk Rock Musician
- Mad Scientist
- Surfer Girl
- Hazmat Guy
An eclectic assortment, I think you’ll agree, but fun to collect.
Good hunting, minifig collectors!
